About REFSIX
REFSIX is a revolutionary smartwatch and mobile app that helps referees track their physical performance and manage their matches on and off the pitch. We are like Strava for referees - our users love the product and seeing detailed information about their matches and season. We embrace a customer focussed mentality when deciding which features to build.
In 2019 we had active users in over 95 countries who completed over 95,000 matches and ran a combined 9 times around the earth! See more stats here. Our coverage allows us to gather lots of match data like scores, cards and goal scorers from lower tiers of football where this data is commonly unavailable.
We started small, but now that we are in our 3rd year we are looking to expand the team and accelerate our growth.
The Job
We are looking for a full stack Javascript developer to work on web apps and backend codebases. You will be able to specialise based on your experience and aspirations. You could focus more front end and build beautiful UI or backend working to produce elegant and efficient server side and business logic code.
We have an exciting roadmap of features planned for this year which is a combination of building new features and optimising our existing app to drive better customer experience and goal conversions.
You’ll be perfect for this position if you:
Have at least 2 years commercial javascript development experience using node and/or front end web frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue.
Are experienced with unit testing, git, continuous integration etc
Have built applications which get data from restful APIs and databases.
Take pride in building high quality experiences using the latest web technology standards.
Are hungry to learn and want to become a master of your trade. We will entrust you to research and recommend the best solutions for problems you work on.
It’s a plus if you have
A bachelor's degree and/or MSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Experience in developing mobile apps with Swift or Java.
Used cordova, ionic, react native or another hybrid app framework.
Used typescript, rollup, webpack, gulp, grunt.
Built beautify and accessible websites with CSS3 & HTML5.
Experience using AWS or other cloud services.
Have an entrepreneurial ambitions and are interested in learning the bigger picture of growing a profitable business
An interest in football or refereeing. No worries if you aren’t - as long as you’re passionate about tech and software development you’ll fit right in!
