Today REFSIX Ltd, a leading football referee app for smartphones and smart watches, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Danish business SportsLevels IVS, the company behind competing refereeing app, RefLevel. 

SportsLevels IVS was founded in 2017 by Rimon Nassory and launched the RefLevel app on Android and iOS. The RefLevel app offers referees many of the same features as the REFSIX app and as such was a direct competitor with a focus on the Danish market. 

Rimon Nassory, founder of SportsLevels joins REFSIX as Chief Information Officer and Business Development Manager. He is a passionate football referee and a talented app developer who will bring great value to REFSIX in his new role with the company.

In 2019, SportsLevels were successful in partnering with the DBU (the Danish Football Association) to receive referee appointments and team sheets from matches digitally into the RefLevel app. The partnership with the DBU, a world first in this context, is a game changer for referees in Denmark.

We believe this acquisition is a win-win for all of our users. Existing RefLevel users will now be able to use new platforms such as Samsung watches and very soon Garmin watches to manage their matches using REFSIX. They can also benefit from the incredible amounts of performance tracking the REFSIX platform can record for them such as heat maps, sprinting and distance statistics and career trends. 

For non Danish referees, you’ll see REFSIX be able to provide even more updates at a quicker pace with Rimon joining, expanding the development team’s ability to deliver new features. 

This acquisition will see:

1. Rimon Nassory joins the REFSIX team as Chief Information Officer and Business Development Manager.

2. Some functions of the RefLevel app will be re-deployed into the REFSIX app and then the platform will be sunsetted later in 2021.

3. RefLevel users will be able to transfer their accounts and their old matches from RefLevel to REFSIX. We will communicate with all RefLevel users when this is available.

By joining forces, REFSIX plans to grow its user base in Nordic markets, build a case study of the benefit of partnership with football associations and accelerate the development of the REFSIX app.
